Rainforest Walks
Walking Tracks of Paluma
Enjoy some of the most beautiful untouched rainforest in the world. Paluma offers a variety of walks, take a quick stroll to a lookout or something more challenging. Bring your camera as this area has some of the most endangered and striking plant and animal life you will ever see.
Paluma has a unique and interesting history. Iits 1000 metres altitude hosted troops during the Second World War and remnents from tin mining can still be seen on the "H" Track Loop.
The Walks
Paluma Rainforest Walk - A 580-metre circuit through the Forest Reserve within Paluma Village
Birthday Creek Falls Track - A short walk located in the Paluma State Forest Reserve with excellent opportunities for serious or casual bird watchers.
McClelland's Lookout - Panoramic views of Halifax Bay and Palm Island Group.
The "H" Track - Evidence of Paulma's former softwood timber plantations and tin mining industries
Witts Lookout Track - A self guided 1.5km walk to two adjacent lookouts at the end - allow 45 mins.
Cloudy Creek Track - an extension of Witt's Lookout Track forking to the left about 350 metres from the lookouts. - allow 2 hours.
